Position Overview

Pantheon Data has a need for a

Software Engineer

to support our Federal Client. The ideal candidate will play an important role in our strategic migration of large legacy systems to the AWS Cloud. You'll be responsible for analyzing, adapting, and successfully migrating a wide range of C# and .NET applications to ensure seamless functionality within the AWS environment. Responsibilities

Thoroughly examine existing C# and .NET applications to understand their architecture, dependencies, and integration points.

Identify potential challenges and compatibility issues related to cloud migration.

Develop comprehensive migration strategies and plans for each application.

Modify applications as needed to align with AWS infrastructure and best practices.

Optimize code for performance and scalability within the cloud environment.

Integrate applications with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others.

Leverage AWS tools and SDKs to effectively manage and deploy applications.

Develop cloud-native features and functionalities as needed.

Conduct rigorous testing to ensure migrated applications function as intended within the AWS Cloud - unit and performance testing will be conducted.

Prioritize security and compliance measures throughout the migration process.

Work closely with various engineering teams.

Communicate technical progress and challenges clearly to stakeholders.

Documentation of the process and best practices for future cloud migrations and reference.

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in C# and .NET development.

Minimum 3 years of experience with application migration and refactoring.

Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS services.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate) are a plus.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Proficiency with modern development tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices.

Certifications: AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly preferred.

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

United States - Remote

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
