Position Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with the CTO and engineering leadership to enhance and execute the existing technical vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Provide expert guidance to optimize backend systems built with .NET Core, Golang, and Node.js, ensuring efficiency and scalability without overhauling established frameworks.
- Support frontend development teams in refining user experiences across platforms, utilizing Angular for web interfaces and React Native for mobile applications.
- Improve and streamline existing architecture for data-intensive workflows, leveraging Databricks for advanced analytics and processing, Elasticsearch for reporting and audits, and PostgreSQL for CMS and reporting databases.
- Actively participate in day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues such as failed processes, AWS disruptions, and application errors, while keeping the team focused and driving resolutions efficiently.
- Propose and develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions to validate approaches to complex business problems and align stakeholders on the most effective strategies.
- Focus on accelerating the development lifecycle by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing processes, and fostering collaboration across teams.
Engineering Management
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Develop and refine engineering processes to streamline development, ensure timely delivery, and maintain high-quality output.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management and operations, to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.
Solution Optimization
- Work with the engineering team to enhance serverless infrastructure built on ECS and AWS Lambda to maintain robustness, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support and refine integration with legacy systems (e.g., MySQL) and ensure seamless data flow into modern systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Databricks).
- Advocate for iterative improvements over disruptive changes to maximize efficiency while preserving stability.
Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating progress, challenges, and technical concepts.
- Work closely with senior leadership to provide updates on engineering initiatives, identify resource needs, and recommend process improvements to achieve business objectives.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Technical Skills
- Proven expertise in backend technologies: .NET Core, Golang, Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of frontend frameworks: Angular, React Native.
- Experience with serverless architectures: ECS, AWS Lambda.
- Deep understanding of data management and reporting tools: Databricks, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving application issues, including managing cloud-based infrastructure and debugging failed processes.
- Ability to design and present proof-of-concept (POC) solutions to validate approaches to complex technical and business challenges.
Leadership and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- A demonstrated ability to optimize development processes and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Experience managing distributed teams and fostering collaboration across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare or regulated industries (e.g., HITRUST, HIPAA compliance).
- Experience working with agile development methodologies.
