Legal Assistant/Paralegal

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our client's dynamic law firm, which provides top-notch legal services in business, real estate, municipal, and labor law. This firm works with businesses, professionals, cooperatives, and other organizations throughout MI and IL and is committed to maintaining a positive work environment and delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
Handle civil litigation, primarily creditors' cases, with some bankruptcy work.
Manage real estate transactions, business buyouts, estate planning, and contract disputes.
Handle up to 15 files daily, ensuring efficient processing without spending excessive time on any single file.
Follow up on tasks, consider the attorney's needs, and maintain client control.
Maintain composure when dealing with debtors and be assertive when necessary.
Focus on out-of-court resolutions, rarely going to trial.
Qualifications:
2+ years of recent US law firm experience working as a civil litigation paralegal or legal assistant supporting multiple busy attorneys.
2+ years of E-filing experience (MiFILE, Odyssey, PACER)
Tech-savvy with recent Payserve proficiency for bankruptcy work is preferred.
Initiative and the ability to pivot quickly.
Drama-free zone \u2013 must be dedicated to contributing to a positive work environment.
Minimum typing speed = 55 WPM
Compensation and Benefits:
$55,000 - $70,000 DOE
