Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Location: Wyandotte, MI 48192

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our client's dynamic law firm, which provides top-notch legal services in business, real estate, municipal, and labor law. This firm works with businesses, professionals, cooperatives, and other organizations throughout MI and IL and is committed to maintaining a positive work environment and delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle civil litigation, primarily creditors' cases, with some bankruptcy work.
  • Manage real estate transactions, business buyouts, estate planning, and contract disputes.
  • Handle up to 15 files daily, ensuring efficient processing without spending excessive time on any single file.
  • Follow up on tasks, consider the attorney's needs, and maintain client control.
  • Maintain composure when dealing with debtors and be assertive when necessary.
  • Focus on out-of-court resolutions, rarely going to trial.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of recent US law firm experience working as a civil litigation paralegal or legal assistant supporting multiple busy attorneys.
  • 2+ years of E-filing experience (MiFILE, Odyssey, PACER)
  • Tech-savvy with recent Payserve proficiency for bankruptcy work is preferred.
  • Initiative and the ability to pivot quickly.
  • Drama-free zone - must be dedicated to contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Minimum typing speed = 55 WPM
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $55,000 - $70,000 DOE
