Your Team, Your Impact
Join a world-class dynamic team to enable the next generation of AI revolution. The Connectivity business unit aims to provide world-class DSP solutions for optical communications from inside data centers of 300 meters to long-haul links spanning thousands of kilometers. The mission of the Connectivity optical system group is to lead the development of leading-edge DSP for coherent and IMDD optical communications. The team is responsible for providing performance assessment of future product roadmap by building optical evaluation platforms with state-of-the-art electro-optical components and DSP test chips to build simulation models, validate performance with offline DSP processing, and provide reference design. The team is also responsible for conducting post-silicon performance verification in a completely automated testing environment with 2000 km of single-mode fiber, PDL, and PMD. A successful candidate will help expand the team's capability in electro-optical components modeling and offline DSP processing and participate in post-silicon verification.
What You Can Expect
Connectivity Optical Systems Group:
- Conduct system verification tests on Marvell's Coherent and IMDD DSPs with state-of-the-art optical engine.
- Compose DSP simulation models of electro-optical components used in pluggable coherent and IMDD modules and correlate models with measurements.
- Run DSP simulations with said models to predict module performances of future DSP products.
- Provide technical guidance to customers on how to tune their optical platform with Marvell DSPs to get the best-in-class performance.
What We're Looking For
In order to be successful as a senior staff engineer at Marvell, you should have at least a master's degree in electrical engineering with 5 years of experience with coherent optical or IMDD communication products or a Ph.D. with three years of work experience.
You should also have in-depth knowledge in the following subjects:
- Optical fiber communications with knowledge in CD, PMD, and PDL.
- DSP techniques to recover digital signals from a noisy and time-varying channel such as FFE, timing recovery, and carrier phase recovery.
- A technical scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
- Verification testing and instrument automation.
Knowledge in the following subject matters is desired but not required:
- Ethernet client-side protocols.
- SerDes.
- Embedded FW programming and debug.
- C or C++ programming language.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
124,160 - 186,000 per annum. The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
Additional Compensation and Benefit Elements
