The Senior Quality Engineer will be a key member of the quality team, responsible for ensuring products and processes comply with the client's Quality Management System (QMS). This role involves collaborating directly with high-profile customers to identify root causes of non-conformances and working internally to implement systems that enhance quality at its source.

An aerospace manufacturer located in the western suburbs is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to oversee their on-site lab. Their customers include prominent OEMs such as Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. The company prioritizes quality as a core aspect of its operations and fosters an employee-centered culture, offering perks like every other Friday off, no weekend shifts, and shorter workdays.




Description

  • Involved in developing quality control policies and evaluates production limitations
  • Ability to work cross functionally to resolve quality issues
  • Work directly with OEM manufacturers to discuss product quality
  • Maintain and continuously the develop the companies QMS
  • Assist with creating and maintaining quality documentation
  • Support first article inspection, approve materials, final product assemblies by confirming specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Ability to troubleshoot CMM programming
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action
  • Read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications to establish correct inspection criteria
  • Working knowledge of NADCAP regulations

Profile

  • 5+ years experience in quality within manufacturing
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledgeable of Gage R&R and other calibration methods
  • Understanding of AS9100 or IATF 16949
  • Able to read and interpret customer GD&T blueprints
  • Experience within aerospace preferred
  • Sponsorship not provided

Job Offer

  • Competitive base salary between $95,000-$110,000, depending on experience and skills
  • 10% Bonus
  • 3 weeks PTO
  • 12 paid holidays
  • Every other Friday off
  • Shortened workdays
