The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Plans, directs and coordinates institution wide policies and activities related to information system initiatives supporting divisions of the University. Develops, directs and implements enterprise wide information systems plans and initiatives. Directs and supervises staff and resources to assure efficient and effective operations.Schedule 8 AM-5 PM Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE: This position provides oversight and approval authority of all SAN and Storage administration. Systems managers and administrators will work with the SAN Infrastructure Technical Manager to implement, maintain and troubleshoot storage solutions. The SAN Infrastructure Technical Manager will sign off on other SAN Administrators and System Administrators technical designs before they proceed to change control, testing or implementation. Maintains expertise and knowledge of storage technology and is consulted as the technical SAN/Storage subject matter expert across all systems. Utilizing best practices whenever possible, uses technology to ensure that Enterprise SAN and Storage supports UR Medicine's respective missions in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to provide superior patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical and Operational Oversight of SAN and Storage Infrastructure - Provides review and sign off for all technical changes proposed for all Storage Infrastructure. - Reviews and approves testing and implementation plans, go live readiness documents, and run plans. - Consulted for approval on all technical considerations affecting SAN and Storage Infrastructure. SAN and Storage Technical Lead Essential - Serves as owner, approver and subject matter expert for SAN, Storage and Storage Virtualization - Plans, reviews and approves designs for new systems proposed by other team members or affiliating/collaborating hospital's IT staff for all owned or consulted on systems. - Reviews and approves changes to existing SAN and Storage Infrastructure - Resolves or exonerates critical issues with SAN/Storage or related systems. - Supervises and implements physical installation and maintenance of SAN Infrastructure in the Data Centers Lead Owning Engineer for SAN Infrastructure - Plans and executes appropriate SAN Infrastructure maintenance, refresh, upgrades, and downtime ensuring system availability, stability and following standard change control and downtime SOPs. - Provides central point of interface with vendors for support and maintenance as well as customers for needs assessment and clinical impact communications. - Works with vendors to provide and analyze regular SAN Infrastructure health checks. Interprets, evaluates and implements suggestions provided. - Technical and strategic architect for all SAN and storage infrastructure for current and future endeavors. Administrative - Reviews and approves all technical documents related to support applications and infrastructure. - Ensures appropriate staffing present or available for team. - Stays up to date on new technical developments and best practices across market and peer institutions. Hosts reference calls with peers and relevant subject matter experts to ensure UR Medicine maintains reliable, scalable, cost-effective SAN and Storage infrastructure. - Manages time away, change control and other administrative type functions as required. Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences or equivalent required; - Field of study focused on computer science, information technology, engineering, or system analysis preferred. - Graduate degree preferred. - 4-5 years of management level experience in a related setting, including automated systems required - 4-5 years of vendor management preferred - Project Management experience preferred - 7-9 years of Customer Service, Systems Development, or Information Technology related experience preferred - or an equivalent combination of education and experience required - Subject matter expert in the area of SAN and Storage Infrastructure preferred - Strong understanding of Windows operating system, AIX operating system, Linux operating system, VMware, networks, LAN's, WAN's preferred. - Strong oral and written communication skills, effective questioning, listening, and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills preferred.
