Incumbent will function as a department fund manager supporting ECE dept. faculty, approximately 50 full-time faculty total, with duties divided between fund managers in the dept. Incumbent is to work cooperatively with all faculty to process grant and conact proposals and appropriately advise faculty on agency policies and guidelines. Incumbent will analyze and identify mechanisms for financial management of contract and grant funds, as well as analysis of current expenditures to ensure proper and accurate spending of funds which include purchasing and payroll.

Demonstrated skill in financial analysis and grant budget preparation, including preparation of accounting journals and ledger reconciliation. (Required) Demonstrated working knowledge of contract and grant policies and procedures and ability to analyze and interpret various agency guidelines. (Required) Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures to develop budgets for proposals and financial reports. (Required) Demonstrated oral and written communication skills sufficient to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, academic, contract monitors, federal and private agencies. (Required) Writing and editing skills to prepare grammatically correct correspondence and technical proposals/progress reports. (Required) Knowledge of, and ability to use, Acrobat, Excel, QDB, Word, Cashnet, DTS Directory Update System, CTS Online TSR System, PAC, Bruin Buy. (Required) Ability to be assertive, take charge, make decisions, and identify effective methods of work operation. (Required) Analytical skills to solve problems, situations, and seek information relevant to organizational sources. (Required) Ability to maintain confidentiality. (Required) Skills in organizing a complex workload and ability to plan and prioritize the work. (Required) Demonstrated skill in financial analysis and grant budget preparation, including preparation of accounting journals and ledger reconciliation. (Required) Ability to interpret and apply UC, federal and state policies regarding contract and grants administration. (Required)
