Full-Time Position Summary The Rehab Acute Manager oversees clinical and administrative functions within Rehabilitation Services. This role includes managing staffing, establishing and upholding policies and professional standards, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This individual will operationalize the goals and objectives of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC), fostering consistency in patient care through standardized evaluation, testing, and treatment procedures. Key Responsibilities Develop and implements policies and objectives to ensure best practices in patient care. Conducts hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and staff management, including disciplinary actions as necessary. Coordinates volunteer services with the Director of Volunteer Services. Manages functional area budgets, adhering to financial reporting requirements. Maintains supply levels and oversees orders in collaboration with Central Purchasing. Develops Best Practice protocols for uniform patient care. Provides direct patient care as needed in alignment with JHBMC standards. Compiles monthly reports covering volumes, outcomes, financial indicators, productivity, and labor utilization. Ensures adherence to documentation and billing standards in compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists the multidisciplinary healthcare team in discharge planning and patient throughput. Conducts quality assurance, orientation, and training for medical, nursing, and technical staff. Serves as a liaison between rehabilitation staff and other healthcare team members to enhance collaboration. Participates in medical rounds as appropriate. Keeps current on rehabilitation care practices, providing direct care when required. Oversees student clinical activities and educational programs. Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant healthcare discipline required; Master’s degree preferred. Licensure:
Current Maryland licensure in Physical, Occupational, or Speech Language Pathology or certification in a Rehabilitation Health-related field. Valid CPR certification (Healthcare Provider) required. Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role. Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Language Therapy practices. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to mediate conflicts and negotiate workable solutions. Completion of the Training Checklist for Managers and Supervisors (required within 12 months of employment).
Physical and Environmental Requirements Occasional reaching, grasping, and keyboard use. Document proofreading and review. Office and clinical environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant conditions. Salary Range: Minimum 44.31 per hour - Maximum 77.57 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
