Stamford, CT Position Overview:
The Quant Power Analyst will conduct comprehensive analysis of the U.S. energy market, with a strong emphasis on the power and renewable energy sectors. Reporting directly to the Head of U.S. Power Strategy, the candidate will develop and maintain both new and existing systematic and fundamental models for supply, demand, and pricing. These models will be used to provide actionable insights for trading teams, enabling significant contributions to the firm's U.S. energy trading activities. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth research and analysis of power and renewable markets to directly support trading strategies. Deliver insights and communicate findings to research analysts and traders, exploring the interplay between price dynamics and market fundamentals. Play a leading role in: Designing, building, and refining supply and demand models, as well as pricing models, to inform trading decisions. Enhancing the analytical tools utilized by the power strategy team. Collaborate with other analysts and traders to identify and capitalize on market opportunities. Perform ad-hoc analyses to support trade ideas and special projects. Qualifications:
1-4 years of experience in an analytical role within North American financial markets; experience in commodities, directly with U.S. power or renewables. Bachelor's degree in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong foundation in statistics and microeconomics. Exceptional communication and quantitative skills, with the ability to tackle complex, loosely defined problems independently. Advanced proficiency in programming, including expertise in languages such as Python and SQL. Excel programming necessary.
