OPPORTUNITY Our client is a strategic investment partner for family & founder owned businesses. Their focus is long-term value creation through strategic funding and the building of Shareholder relationships. This Chief Operating Officer (COO) position will lead all daily operations for the investment firm to drive strategic excellence and portfolio company growth. This hire will work closely with executive leadership at all companies in the portfolio and will have lead two internal service lines (People Team and Operations Team). The company is based in Charlotte, NC and priority consideration will be given to candidates who reside in or are willing to relocate to the area, however remote work is offered to candidates willing to travel into Charlotte and to portfolio company locations 25% of the year. SCOPE OF WORK Partner with other VPs and C-Suite Executives to understand and manage portfolio company financial operations. These may include, but are not limited to; budgeting, margin improvement, accounting software updates, cash flow conversions, ensuring financial statement accuracy, tax reporting, and general accounting and financial compliance. Growth and Portfolio Expansion: Partner with internal stakeholders and portfolio company executives to identify opportunities for company growth and operational expansion efforts. Oversee Shareholder sales introductions, add-on acquisitions, new product and service roll outs, market expansion research, and operational improvements to technology. Strategic Operations: Develop operational “playbook” focused on strengthening and growing all portfolio company’s financial operations. Client relationships: Act as trusted primary point of contact and strategic advisor to all portfolio company CEOs and Executives. Serve as an active board member to all portfolio companies. Partner with HR leadership to ensure recruiting, HR, L&D, benefits, and employee relations and retention efforts are evolving and effectively supporting portfolio company operations.
