Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions Pipeline, the Associate Director of Operations for University Programs manages the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of program expansion related to NYU’s visiting and non-credit (CENC) student populations. The incumbent will oversee parameters and established business procedures to ensure that students are seamlessly integrated into NYU’s systems and operations. The Associate Director of Operations is expected to assist in leading across functional areas to identify, recommend, and implement streamlined processes, improved services, and coordinated efforts as program offerings evolve and grow. Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree. Preferred Education:
Master's Degree. Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience in university admissions or related higher education position, supervising staff, office operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience:
3+ years in a college or university level Admissions or Student Services office. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to think strategically. Must be able to work well in a changing environment and practice creative problem solving. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate academic programs. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and manage staff. Demonstrated public speaking ability. Effectively engage and communicate with various stakeholders/audiences at multiple levels. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated data management skills and related reporting capabilities. Ability to create systems and solve difficult problems using sound judgment and analysis. Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast paced environment with competing priorities, while remaining flexible and proactive. Ability to accurately and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult issues and/or diverse organizations. Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, professional colleagues, and the public. Strong managerial and leadership skills with an ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to take direction from a variety of management styles and roles. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules i.e. Admissions, Student Records, Student Financials, etc. Experience with Slate CRM system. Ability to project manage a team to facilitate implementations and/or procedural change. Adept and interested in learning and implementing new technologies to improve existing processes.
