Associate Attorney in Public Finance
Join a prestigious AmLaw 50 national law firm as a Mid-Level Associate Attorney specializing in Public Finance, based in any of our offices in Chicago, Detroit, Houston, or Milwaukee. This role entails handling complex and high-stakes public finance transactions, providing expert legal services in various sectors, including healthcare finance, economic development, and infrastructure projects. Salary:
$200,000.00 - $280,000.00 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Represent borrowers, issuers, financial institutions, and governmental entities in public finance transactions. Provide specialized legal advice in healthcare finance, economic development, housing, TIF and special assessments, infrastructure, and education sectors. Draft, review, and negotiate complex financial documents to ensure legal compliance and protect clients' interests. Lead and collaborate with a team on significant public finance matters, ensuring optimal strategy and execution. Engage directly with clients and partners, handling significant matters effectively both independently and as part of a team. Minimum Position Qualifications: JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record. Active Bar admission in Illinois, Michigan, Texas, or Wisconsin, in good standing. 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in public finance roles. Proven experience as mid-level bond counsel, lender’s counsel, and disclosure counsel. Extensive experience working with state agencies, municipalities, and governmental entities. In-depth knowledge of tax, securities, uniform commercial code, and contract law as applicable to public finance. Preferred Qualifications: Concentration in business law during law school. Ambition to further develop in various aspects of public finance law. Strategic thinker with high attention to detail and precision in all legal documentation. Skills: Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills. Outstanding matter management abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to finding and recommending solutions.
