Senior Tax Manager
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our thriving regional CPA firm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, and timely preparation of our clients’ tax returns, managing complex tax situations, and contributing to strategic tax planning and client meetings.
Salary:
DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of various complexities. Takes full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates tasks to tax preparers as necessary. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills for client advisement. Ensures all tasks related to client service are accomplished within budgeted time. Actively participates in client meetings and tax planning efforts, especially for larger clients. Serves as a key resource for tax preparers/specialists and Audit & Accounting staff on specific tax issues and queries. Directly manages client service responsibilities for specific clients or as delegated from partners. Manages and represents clients during governmental tax examinations. Ensures smooth operation of the tax preparation system, guaranteeing the accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax returns. Maintains adherence to strict billing and collection procedures. Engages in firm development practices through networking with referral sources, and participation in community and industry activities. Minimum Position Qualifications: At least five to seven years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in tax complexity, scope, and research. Proven experience with passthrough, real estate, and consolidated C corporation tax returns. Minimum one year of supervisory experience, directing the work of tax preparers. Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Must hold a current and valid certified public accountant’s license. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in taxation is highly preferred. Skills: Strong leadership capabilities for team development and training. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
