Departmental Overview: The Department of Psychology is a large, complex department within the College of Letters and Science (Division of Social Sciences). The Department includes close to 60 faculty members, 27 career staff, several lecturers, and a number of visiting scholars and postdocs each year. The fundamental missions of the University—teaching, research, and community service—are all met by the Department. Our teaching program is extensive, serving approximately 8000 students yearly. Position Summary: The PsychTech position is necessary to meet the IT needs of faculty, students, and staff of the Psychology Department. Key elements include providing direct end-user support, systems maintenance and integration, and maintaining cybersecurity for sensitive research and clinic patient data. Responsibilities: Security: Act as the primary contact for security for the Unit. Liaise with the College of Letters and Science and UC Berkeley Information Security Office (ISO). Implement security controls and maintain compliance with campus security policies. System Administration: Manage faculty, graduate student researcher, and staff MacOS and Windows computers. Manage Windows servers and Active Directory users. End User Technical Support: Serve as the primary contact for department end-user technical support. Technology Service Integration: Initiate product research and implement solutions for department business processes. Audiovisual Support: Manage audiovisual systems in department classrooms and conference rooms. Required Qualifications: Windows Server system administration, Active Directory, Group Policy. End-user IT technical support for desktop and laptop computers. Ability to write technical documentation clearly. Preferred Qualifications: Programming experience with Python, Django, and MySQL in AWS environments. Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, eligible for UC Benefits. The budgeted annual salary is $95,000.00 - $130,000.00.
