With a commitment to integrity and excellence, the firm is seeking a Tax Controller to oversee their tax functions and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of tax law, financial reporting, and strategic planning, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting, coupled with proven expertise in tax preparation, review, and compliance.

Focus:
Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and strategy to ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions and minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all tax returns, including income, property, sales, and use tax.
Provide guidance and leadership in managing tax audits, responding to tax notices, and resolving tax-related issues.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the finance, legal, and operations teams, to provide tax-related support and analysis for business decisions.
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and manage international tax matters as applicable.
Lead a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship, training, and performance management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax regulations and accounting standards, ensuring the organization adapts to new tax laws and requirements.
Drive process improvements and best practices for efficient tax reporting and compliance.
Prepare and deliver tax-related reports and analyses for senior management, ensuring clear communication of tax positions, risks, and opportunities.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; a Master’s in Taxation is strongly preferred.
5-7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years focused on tax-specific roles in preparation, review, or strategic tax planning.
CPA or equivalent certification is required.
Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements; experience with international tax matters is a plus.
Proven experience managing tax audits and dealing with tax authorities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing tax talent.
Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
