DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller based in Richmond, Virginia, United States. As a Controller, you will be a key player in our financial management team, ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting functions and playing a pivotal role in our growth strategy. Responsibilities:• Oversee the work of a senior accountant and staff accountant, ensuring accuracy and compliance• Handle all general accounting tasks, including the management of accounts payable and receivable• Conduct month end closing activities and prepare monthly financial statements• Manage budget processes, forecasting, and analysis to aid in business decision-making strategies• Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations• Prepare for and engage with external audits, comfortably liaising with auditors and bankers• Develop and implement accounting functions, processes, and controls• Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel• Utilize accounting software systems and AP system effectively for financial management• Communicate with stakeholders, providing quarterly reports to investors and annual financials• Handle the accounting and financial implications of over 150 related business entities.Requirements• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.• Solid grasp of Accounting Functions is required.• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.• Knowledge in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.• Familiarity with Auditing processes is a must.• Proficiency in Budget Processes is highly desirable.• Ability to prepare Monthly Financial Statements is required.• Experience with Month End Close is necessary.• Knowledge of Corporate Tax Compliance is crucial.• Strong understanding of Accounting Control is required.*Background ideally with construction, property management or real estate companiesJob typePerm
