SENIOR DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR COMPREHENSIVE HEALING
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Center for Comprehensive Healing is an interdisciplinary research center that evaluates the effectiveness of alternative and complementary healing treatments for mental health. The Center’s purpose is to deepen the overall understanding of and utilization of a diversity of healing modalities through research, community-building, and translation to patients in Mass General Brigham’s community health centers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director (SD) will work closely with faculty and staff to operationalize, oversee, and promote the goals of the Center. Responsibilities include the development, integration, and operational management of Center initiatives, as well as high-level administrative and fiscal functions. The SD will set the strategic and operational direction of the Center, working closely with physicians, scientists, and departmental leadership.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Planning
Provide expertise in strategic planning, external affairs, and policy formulation.
Convert ideas into measurable action plans; evaluate methods to achieve the Center’s goals.
Oversee implementation and execution of action plans; monitor milestones and deliverables.
Lead business plan development; align program development with clinical research strategies.
Identify and cultivate collaborative networks within MGH/MGB and beyond.
Assist with the development and management of education and training programs.
Develop relationships to generate consensus and guide stakeholders to action.
Operations and Management
Oversee human resource functions, including hiring and review processes.
Manage the Initiative’s financial portfolio, ensuring spending is on target.
Supervise staff associated with the Center.
Oversee project management and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
Develop and analyze budgets for alignment with Center objectives.
Liaison with departmental grants administrators and MGH/MGB Research Management.
Communication and Relationship Building
Serve as an ambassador for the Center to external partners.
Oversee internal/external marketing strategies for the program.
Assist with fundraising efforts; identify funding sources and develop materials.
Establish effective working relationships with leadership, administrators, researchers, and clinicians.
Provide communication to stakeholders at all levels.
Participate in relevant Department meetings.
Research Project Support
Support faculty and staff in developing IRB protocols and agreements related to human subject research.
Oversee and participate in developing grant budgets and supporting documents.
Supervise the Center’s research staff and act as a liaison between MGH and subcontract sites.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree or higher in a related field and at least five years of experience in program management.
Commitment to social justice and equity.
Proven ability in program development and implementation.
Experience in clinical research operations.
Interest/experience in mental health, data science, and health systems research.
Ability to manage complex projects effectively.
Financial management and analytical skills.
Experience with developing proposals and educational materials.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Leadership style that is open and transparent.
Judgment in managing sensitive issues.
Collaborative working style.
Ability to provide leadership and support to staff.
Exceptional organizational skills and flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
