The Sr. Accountant a Professional Services firm will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, general accounting functions, and financial analysis to support the firm's operations. This role involves managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, handling account reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. This positition will eventually be the Controllers #2! Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP. Lead the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reviewing general ledger entries, and performing reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee the general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate coding of transactions and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data. Perform detailed reconciliations for various accounts (e.g., cash, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets) and prepare variance analysis for financial statements. Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with firm goals and industry trends.

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred. 3-6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment. Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
