Denham-Blythe is searching for a Superintendent that will be responsible for all daily construction site activities; including scheduling, planning, implementing, safety, reporting, budgeting, and quality control. The Superintendent will also manage in-house resources such as tools, equipment, manpower, materials and supplies. The Superintendent will need strong communication skills to communicate effectively with clients, project managers, field crews and the design team and must have knowledge of building codes, and means & methods of general building construction. Essential Functions Sets up the job site by coordinating necessary resources to ensure jobsite needs are met. Does building layout by coordinating field engineering needs throughout the various phases of the project. Responsible for ensuring that current and up-to-date drawings are being utilized by everyone onsite. Conducts daily quality control inspections to ensure design intent is met. Understands how to interpret specific details pertaining to the plans and specifications for a project. Manages and prepares as-built drawings. Responsible for coordinating the special inspections as required by Denham-Blythe or by a 3rd party. Responsible for site safety, security, and clean-up. Responsible for ensuring daily equipment inspections are performed and logged. Orders and coordinates deliveries to the project site in an effective manner. Responsible for managing daily reporting of labor and material usage. Conducts daily tool box talks for safety awareness. Assists the field engineering efforts as required for layout. Understands building codes and means and methods of general building construction. Communicates effectively with clients, project managers, field crews, and design team. Assists with the design detail and proposes alternate methods to design team if needed. Responsible for organized, concise and accurate record keeping of project installations, activities, time reporting, and recording of safety documents. Responsible for the documentation of safety violations and ensures they are reported to the safety director. Ability to be on call 24/7/365. Typically the first one to arrive to the jobsite and the last one to leave. Attends annual supervisor training. Participates in the monthly all hand safety meetings and Safety Committee. Physical Demands Hauls tools and small equipment to the project sites - this involves lifting, loading, and unloading from ground level up to 48" in height. Ability to lift 50lbs safely to 48" in height. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders up to 30 feet. May have to stand for a long period of time and expected to walk the project site regularly throughout the day. Ability to pull materials weighing up to 40lbs and push objects weighing up to 90lbs. Must be able to operate basic equipment (backhoe, skid steer, forklift, lull, boom lift, scissor lift). Examples may be to load rock, dirt, or debris, and dump it or to use a forklift to unload materials. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 5 - 10 years of construction experience. One to two years of field experience, including carpentry and concrete formwork experience.
