If you are passionate about solving complex problems with elegant and creative solutions, then this job maybe a perfect fit for youDescriptionAs an AirPlay performance engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, debugging and improving performance in the foundations of AirPlay technology. This includes building measurement, debug, and test methodologies, defining AirPlay KPIs, and driving the plan to achieve the KPIs. Working through the feature in development, you will influence the overall systems design and help build the future of AirPlay.
To be successful in this role, you need to be versatile and able to thrive in a fast paced environment. You must be a team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, excellent judgment, integrity and the ability to make timely and sound decisions. You must have strong technical and programming skills, and a solid understanding of multithreaded programming and programming on realtime systems. You have experience with performance analysis and optimizations. A background in Video or Audio technologies, and a good understanding of the various media formats is a plus.Minimum QualificationsAt least 3 years of industry experiecne with strong programming skills in C/C++BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalentExperience with performance analysis methodologies and optimizationsFamiliarity with Media Playback fundamentals, audio and/or video streamingPreferred QualificationsSolid understanding of multithreading and concurrency fundamentalsExperience in API design and maintenanceOS X / Darwin experience is a major plus.Familiarity with networking protocolsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
