Manager, Networking Commodity Management

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience managing a Networking supply chain, or related data center hardware experience. Experience in people management. Preferred qualifications: MBA or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field. 10 years of experience managing Networking hardware supply chain. Experience in agreement negotiations and supplier performance management. Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes. Ability to work, influence, and resolve conflicts cross-functionally with internal/external partners. Position Overview: Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to ensure Google has the supplies and equipment to produce innovative products. As a Commodity Manager, you will utilize your industry knowledge and supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can significantly impact Google's bottom line. Our team is responsible for supplier development and performance management to meet Google's technology and business needs. You will lead a team to drive collaboration in developing and executing Google's sourcing strategy for Networking hardware across multiple internal organizations, supporting our infrastructure deployment that powers Google's services. You will be part of a Supply Chain team focused on continuous improvements and operational excellence in support of Google's growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead a commodity management team in support of Networking engineering, sourcing, and supply chain objectives, including advising on supplier selection for new deployments and conducting executive supplier business reviews. Manage supplier performance in technology alignment, cost, quality, and delivery through regular business reviews and implement supply chain improvements. Conduct supplier negotiations, including comprehensive contractual agreements. Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $153,000-$230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
