Director Credit Analyst Program

Under the direction of the Chief Credit Officer, develop and oversee a best in class commercial credit development program that provides foundational training in core professional competencies with a focus on credit, as well as leadership opportunities, to develop the next generation of commercial banking, private banking, and commercial credit professionals. Ensures in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
Responsibilities
Develops and oversees a best-in-class commercial credit development program that provides foundational training in credit and other core professional competencies, preparing talent for roles in commercial banking, private banking, and credit. Ensures the program provides an understanding of core business concepts, the Bank’s strategy and credit philosophy, exposure to core banking products and solutions, unique experiences and exposure to company leadership, as well as the opportunity to participate in or lead key projects. Develops and oversees a rotational program that provides analysts with rotational opportunities as part of the program. Partners with key stakeholders to provide various community impact opportunities and projects for analysts. Develops and executes a recruitment strategy working with key partners to make Bank of Hawaii the employer of choice for top talent. Partners with People Services as appropriate. Develops and oversees individual development plans for Program participants to ensure optimal experience and engagement while identifying next best career opportunities. Coordinates permanent placement into commercial banking, private banking, and credit business units upon completion of the Program (approx. two years). Manages vendors and other relationships that provide training services or support to the Program. Provides reporting and tracking of program to Senior Management. Leads, directs and oversees all staff members in the section including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development. Provides leadership, direction and a motivational environment. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned, which may include reviewing and approving/declining credit requests. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. Experience:
Minimum 12 to 15 years of work experience, preferably in lending and successful customer relationship management. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience. Experience with training processes including planning, design, delivery, evaluation, and implementing concepts of adult learning principles, instructional design, needs assessment and performance measurement and evaluation. Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use bank software. Facilitation and presentation skills, managing organizational change and coaching and mentoring skills. Demonstrated project management experience in executing large scale change plans and ability to support concurrent projects, ensuring on-time delivery and quality using both internal and external resources. Other Qualifications:
Motivated leader with the vision to build an innovative program and a passion and desire for developing talent. Demonstrated ability to be a catalyst for change and an employee champion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills, an ability to be flexible, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate effectively with partners. Strong project management and implementation skills. Able to manage multiple programs with changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Able to work on-site no less than four days a week. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed. Must be able to push/lift up to 25 lbs. Able to commute and arrive at intended destination as required. Must be able to travel off-island as required.
