The Director Finance SCM is the financial consultant to the Supply Chain Management Senior Leadership team, as well as the Finance Senior Leadership team and works closely with the business partners in both organizations to drive improvement solutions and enable fact-based decisions within the DC and manufacturing environments. This role supports and steers the business to achieve operational performance, financial and non-financial targets as well as the defined long-term strategy. Ensure transparency on cost and cost drivers of the Supply Chain through cost management (OPEX, COGS, CAPEX) of the assigned budget by supervising budget process and forecast, reporting actual costs, explaining cost deviations, and identifying savings potential. Identify requirements and further develop methods for advanced budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking; establish a benchmarking process; and deepen knowledge and understanding of industry trends. Responsible for the oversight of the accuracy and completion of the accounting closing activities, analyzing and explaining the biggest deviations using system data during the closing process, ensuring the correct allocation of costs and expenses (accrual basis) and P&L lines. Review, analyze, and evaluate the performance of the cost of transportation and storage providing analysis of changes in volume, mix and efficiency and ensuring the dissemination of the various reports and financial presentations using local and global tools to provide reliable information for decision making. Support the preparation of the Target according to the business guidelines. Develop proposals for actions, as well as identify potential inconsistencies in the indications and projections defined. Ensure financial but also non-financial managers are provided top-notch and highly accurate information for analysis for their business decisions. Drive execution and implementation of strategies to improve end-to-end SCM performance, cost and service levels and how to drive those strategies into the local markets to improve performance. Manage business case development of Supply Chain projects and investments by challenging, identifying and quantifying improvement potential; cascading business cases into project budgets including project budget controlling support and business case target follow-up (full project life-cycle support); and enabling one-stop shopping for consistency. Actively drive Supply Chain strategy development and implementation through leading all business case developments for the US and Canada. Drive transparency on business performance drivers and building a sustainable “performance management culture” within the Supply Chain Organization. Build, develop, coach, motivate and lead a strong, diversified team; create an environment which enables team members to perform. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Excellent financial controlling and accounting skills. Ability to coach, guide, manage, and develop a team. Excellent communication skills to negotiate with internal and/or external parties with possible divergent interests and with different business areas. Business fluency in English (written and spoken). Comprehensive business understanding of processes and structure. Strong results orientation and pro-activity. High degree of stakeholder orientation and appropriate prioritization. Ability to maneuver in a consistently challenging environment. Ability to execute strategy. Excellent analytical skills in order to analyze complex issues and to improve processes and techniques. Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies. Qualifications

(Minimum required education and experience): Advanced degree or qualification in Finance, Economics or Accounting (e.g. MBA or CPA). 10 years of broad-based operational finance experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading companies. Solid accounting skills and experience. Advanced Excel skills required. Familiarity with SAP, COPA, and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus.
