Position Summary:
This role is responsible for directing the global sourcing and procurement of all primary packaging. Create and implement a well-defined global procurement and supply plan to fit with the company’s strategies and growth in all regions. Lead and supervise activities of all regional procurement managers to ensure that Monster is receiving the best value and pricing. Negotiate all supply agreements to guarantee global sourcing models are in place and ensure supply continuity. The Director will work closely with Strategic Planning, Production Planning, Finance and Operations leaders in the development of all programs to deliver a sustainable and reliable operating model. Key deliverables are Supplier relationship management, Global pricing, productivity, Hedging, risk mitigation, contingency planning, oversight of key progress reports, overall management of Global aluminum reconciliation and bridging variances to the financial plan. The role will report to the VP of Global Procurement.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage all supplier relationships globally. Ensure global supply continuity and value creation.
Lead all high level projects (supply, capacity and financial) with all key suppliers and internal key stakeholders.
Negotiate all terms of supply agreements globally.
Analyze global supply quotations, lead negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure lowest landed cost.
Report regularly to executive leadership on aluminum and resin news/price updates.
Maintain hedge strategy - Monitor aluminum market conditions and recommend hedge positions in order to adhere to strategy and hedge percentages by quarter.
Understand industry trends in beverage and aluminum, PET, HDPE and glass packaging (others as applicable) and translate into optimization opportunities globally.
Work closely with Technical Services and Engineering on the quality and performance of suppliers. Lead all top-to-top meetings to address global supply and quality.
Actively participate in the resolution of crisis level issues. Ensure Monster is receiving best in class quality, service and supply.
Visit vendors’ offices and plants (domestic and overseas) to assess their capabilities and capacities.
Establish all new vendor programs and partnerships globally.
Manage cost reduction projects such as light weighting and all productivity initiatives.
Monitor logistics costs to ensure Monster is purchasing in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Lead the analysis of cost changes and accounting purchase price variances, ensure accurate reporting to Finance leadership.
Be an active member in the product development process to ensure new primary packaging items are sourced as appropriate.
Participate in high level business teams to understand regional business strategies and align those with both regional and global procurement category strategies.
Position Requirements:
Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance or related field preferred.
7-10 years’ experience with a CPG company (beverage industry preferred).
Excellent negotiation skills.
Understanding commodities & hedging tools.
Understanding of Aluminum political and economic market conditions.
Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Able to analyze large amounts of data and creatively problem solve.
Strong communication skills across different countries and functions within an organization.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Management process improvements projects related to the purchasing function.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a dynamic and fast paced, changing environment and take initiative.
SAP Experience preferred.
Base Pay Range:
$143,000k - $191,000k
