Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct due diligence, and establish strong relationships with key vendors. Lead the negotiation of contracts and terms of agreement, ensuring favorable pricing, delivery, and payment terms. Manage the entire procurement process from supplier selection to contract management and purchase order creation. Monitor market trends, supply chain conditions, and new suppliers to ensure a competitive advantage. Ensure compliance with the company's procurement policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, and production) to understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with company goals. Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, and cost. Develop, track, and report key performance metrics related to procurement (e.g., cost savings, supplier performance, lead times). Manage the procurement budget and provide regular updates to senior management on cost-saving initiatives and supplier performance. Continuously evaluate and optimize the procurement process to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals. Education Bachelor’s degree in business administration with experience in Manufacturing or Engineering or 10 plus years of experience. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience (10+ years) as a procurement manager or in a similar role. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Knowledge of the Aluminum market – different grades and effects on pricing. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient understanding of the movement and dynamics of the scrap market, including knowledge of price drivers and key market influencers. Strong personality with the ability to constructively challenge peers and collaborate effectively within the management team. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to act as an influential business partner to the Sierra team, focusing on commercial and strategic procurement initiatives. Operational supply chain expertise, with a strong understanding of transportation, logistics, and warehouse management a plus. Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms). Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze market trends and supplier data. Knowledge of contract law and procurement regulations. Experience in developing and managing budgets. Results-oriented mindset with tactical proficiency in managing on-time deliveries in coordination with suppliers. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Ideally, experience as a raw materials procurement manager in sizable, high-volume, or non-high volume operations. Metal industry experience. 10+ years in Material Procurement Process.
