Department Summary

Strategy, Planning, and Operations leads and manages a large and complex portfolio of IT projects and programs while establishing partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, staff, and external partners on behalf of the IT organization. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, financial management and budgeting, vendor management and licensing, billing, internal communications, department human resources, talent management, and culture development.The Enterprise Program Management team operates as a centralized, strategic IT function that works with IT executives and key university decision makers to facilitate the strategic alignment, planning, prioritization, and value realization of all enterprise-wide IT projects, programs, and portfolio planning and management activities. Position Summary

The Program Director, Administration IT Consolidation will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and enhancing project management capabilities for the UCLA Administration Division. Responsible for leading a dynamic team of program managers, project managers and project analysts, the Program Director will oversee the full portfolio of applications and services consolidation objectives, ensuring alignment with ITS and Administration objectives. They will also oversee the organizational change management team to ensure change readiness, journey navigation, strategic communications, and staff enablement. This leader will establish and enforce project governance standards, driving adherence to project lifecycles, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. The Program Director will collaborate with program sponsors and key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success metrics, fostering a culture of innovation, alignment, and customer satisfaction. This position will involve program risk management and continuous improvement efforts. This role will require adept communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges and influence positive outcomes. The Program Director will propel the organization forward through effective project management practices, promoting efficiency, growth, and organizational excellence. The Program Director will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT projects and programs in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. Seven years experience working in one or more of the following fields: project management, information technology, data services, application services, IT service management, or related field. (Required) Five years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Required) Experience managing teams in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues. (Required) Significant experience leading and managing teams, including advanced abilities in persuasion, negotiation, and mentorship. (Required) Significant experience solving complex, technical and non-technical problems with budget, timeline, and other resource implications. (Required) Experience operating as a point of escalation or final decision making. (Required) Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies. (Required) Significant experience communicating with technical and non-technical leaders. (Required) Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams, including abilities in persuasion, negotiation, change management, and mentorship. (Required) Experience leading others in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues. (Preferred) Highly advanced project management skills with significant experience delivering multiple complex projects, delegating responsibility between teams, overseeing multiple projects, managing others, and leading teams to prioritize among competing project/customer needs. (Required) Demonstrated understanding of how decisions affect teams. Demonstrated ability to make decisions with integrity. (Required) Highly skilled in written and verbal communications and is able to communicate on behalf of teams and relay highly complex technical information. (Required) Highly advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delivering multiple complex projects, delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, managing others, and coaching teams on the prioritization of competing project/customer needs. Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree in one or more of: information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or another related field, or equivalent experience/training. (Required) Other Type of Degree in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or another related field. (Preferred) One or more of the following: PgMP, PfMP, Agile Scrum, LEAN Six Sigma and/or ITIL certification (Preferred)

Special Conditions for Employment

This is a two year contract appointment. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement). The anticipated pay range for this position is $168,300-$185,000, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
