Position Summary
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Manager, IT Talent Operations who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of human resources strategies and policies for the information technology (IT) organization at UCLA.
The Manager will provide thoughtful counsel to leaders and teams across multiple functions in the business. This role will work closely with the IT leadership team to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the organization, and provide guidance on employee performance management, career development, and leadership initiatives. The Manager will lead employee engagement initiatives and provide coaching and support to employees and managers. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all HR processes and procedures comply with university policies and regulations. The Manager, IT Talent Operations will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling UCLA IT to attract, retain, and develop its staff in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Qualifications
5+ years experience working in one or more of the following fields: human resources, talent management, information technology, or related field. (Required) 2+ years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Required) Experience leading and managing teams, including abilities in persuasion, negotiation, change management, and mentorship. (Required) Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred) 5+ years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Preferred) 7+ years experience working in one or more of the following fields: human resources, talent management, information technology, or related field. (Preferred) Ability to develop HR strategies and/or talent management strategies that support the comprehensive employee lifecycle from recruitment through separation. (Required) Skill in aligning HR projects and work plans to overall HR strategies and business objectives to drive organizational improvement. (Required) Familiarity with HR needs of technical and operational staff members typically found in an IT organization. (Required) Strong knowledge and experience integrating HR functions such as Talent, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Change Management, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion functions. (Required) Advanced knowledge of personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations. (Required) Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively. (Required) Highly skilled in written and verbal communications and is able to communicate on behalf of teams and relay highly complex information. Significant experience communicating with technical and non-technical leaders. (Required) Highly advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delivering multiple complex projects, delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, managing others, and coaching teams on the prioritization of competing project/customer needs. Significant experience leading others in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues. (Required) Ability to provide inclusive leadership of others, advancing an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (Required) Ability to solve complex problems with budget, timeline, and other resource implications. Able to delegate solutioning when appropriate to the proper resources. (Required) Demonstrated ability to make decisions with integrity. (Required) Advanced knowledge of the university's HR information systems. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following fields, or equivalent combination of experience/training: human resources, public administration, business administration, communications, liberal arts, information technology, or another related field. (Required) SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or similar certification (Preferred)
