Senior Desktop Engineer
to join its
expanding IT Department!

Oversee and lead end-user technology hardware deployment projects, including laptops, desktops, phones, mobile devices, and specialized equipment. Champion Software Deployment:
Oversee and lead the deployment and maintenance of end-user software, encompassing operating systems, enterprise-wide applications, and specialized software. Embrace Innovation:
Provide recommendations to IT Leadership on integrating, testing, and deploying new end-user hardware and software. Be a Tech Mentor:
Provide Tier 1/2/3 support to end-users, resolving technical issues and fulfilling service requests using system management tools and techniques. Serve as an escalation point for IT Technicians, offering guidance and expertise in problem resolution. Master Technology:
Install, diagnose, repair, upgrade, and maintain computing hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, copiers, printers, audio/visual systems, phones, and mobile devices. Drive Efficiency:
Participate in asset management and tracking support, including initiating processes to maintain accurate inventory. Ensure Seamless Communication:
Provide training to end-users on various City technology systems, ensuring their understanding and proficiency. Collaborate and Contribute:
Participate in reviewing and evaluating equipment and software alternatives for departments/users, recommending optimal solutions. Maintain Excellence:
Prepare and maintain documentation related to policies, procedures, and IT systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Deliver Exceptional Service:
Monitor service tickets daily, ensuring timely completion of work while maintaining high communication levels with customers until their satisfaction is achieved. Be a Team Player:

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range is $83,425 - $92,695/year. We care about our employees and offer a generous

Please review the full job description here! Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and current Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience as a team lead or senior resource required. Training and experience in maintenance, repair and proper use of personal computers and related computer hardware. Microsoft and/or CompTIA professional certifications preferred. Experience and training in ITIL with ITIL Foundations Certification preferred. CJIS certified or ability to obtain certification before, as a pre-requisite to, employment.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of:
the use, function, maintenance, imaging, repair, and support of personal computers and related hardware (Dell preferred) the use, function, and support of Microsoft Office 365 Suite and current Microsoft Windows operating systems workstation security: anti-virus, anti-spyware, general OS security InTune use and deployment Azure joined domain management PMI Project Management Methodologies use, function, and support of Office365 including OneDrive for Business, SharePoint and Teams networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications the terminology, principles and methods utilized within the Information Technology Department ITIL Skills in:
use of Group Policy Management use of System Center Configuration Manager supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 configuring and installing, laptops, printers, and computer peripherals desktop imaging software (preferably Microsoft tools) mobile device management tools verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical terminology to non-technical end users in utilizing computer hardware, software tools, applications and techniques to complete daily assignments written and verbal communication skills interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to:
multitask and establish/follow-through on the prioritization of customer requests with limited direction. Consults and interacts with customers and maintains a high level of customer service communicate technical solutions with language easily understood by users adapt to diverse personalities and varying demands while serving customers follow verbal and written instructions manage assignments and workload of a small team to complete end-user hardware deployment projects coach, mentor and train team members work effectively in a team environment follow detailed procedures while maintaining accuracy, quality and productivity establish priorities for work assignments and complete assignments in a timely manner
