Role Summary
Magna New Mobility is seeking an IoT Solutions Architect to join our Software Platform team. We are building the next generation orchestration platform with hand on applications for a variety of users within Magna. In addition, we are focused using rich data to bring efficiency to material handling workflows through several software, robotics, and hardware solutions. The IoT Solutions Architect will bridge the gap between business needs and digital manufacturing technologies, ensuring both sides communicate effectively. #LI-Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between business needs and digital manufacturing technologies, ensuring both sides communicate effectively.
Lead the assessment and development of architectures, focusing on integrating industrial robots and IoT software products within factory systems.
Have a strong background in creating IT architectures and working collaboratively with teams in manufacturing environments.
Ensure that industrial software solutions are built in alignment with key manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency.
Work closely with key stakeholders to understand and address current and future challenges, needs, and opportunities.
Provide valuable insights into emerging technology trends and potential disruptions, advocating for innovative advancements.
Develop business architecture and capability roadmaps that align with manufacturing strategies and long-term priorities.
Have full lifecycle experience in developing and deploying solutions in real-world manufacturing environments.
Open to traveling up to 20% of the time to support work-related activities.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field.
Strong understanding of how manufacturing relates to other Industry 4.0 value stream capabilities (supply chain, product development, customer experience, etc.).
Ability to translate strategic business goals into clear vision and operating model objectives.
Ensuring that business and IT architectures support the execution of the business strategy.
Financial planning and analysis related to technology and total cost of ownership modeling.
Experience with MES, WMS, SCM, PLM, LIMS, process controls, and manufacturing integrations.
10 years of experience in information systems environment in the Manufacturing and Industrial Automation domain
Experience in PLM, MES/MOM, PLC, SCADA, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, Manufacturing IT Systems integration.
Bonus points if you have
Demonstrated experience with loosely coupled, micro-services platform architectures, containerization (docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
Expertise in cybersecurity best practices (including OT security)
You have Azure or AWS cloud experience and have knowledge of edge and cloud capabilities.
