Job Overview:
A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a General Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive litigation experience, focusing on handling trials, hearings, and other litigation proceedings. Intense research, writing, and communication skills are essential for this role. Duties: Attend mediations, trials, and hearings and fulfill other assigned duties. Conduct thorough legal research and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters. Take and defend depositions. Travel as required for case needs. Write articles and deliver presentations to clients, trade associations, and ICLE. Participate in firm marketing initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Member of the Georgia Bar, maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements. Alabama Bar membership is a plus. 5 years of litigation experience preferred, with specific expertise in Georgia; foreclosure experience is advantageous. Title experience is desirable. Proficiency in rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in state and federal courts. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools like Fastcase or Westlaw. Ability to manage multiple projects and cases, prioritizing tasks effectively. Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively within a team. Commitment to professionalism, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a work ethic. Proactive in identifying and resolving issues promptly. Adaptable to changing environments and responsibilities.
