Provide leadership and direct oversight for the Student Affairs programs of the College, including Access, Equity and Diversity, Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Wellness. Act as a principal advisor to the President. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in long- and short-range planning for the College, representing the Student Affairs function. Initiate policies and procedures that govern the Student Affairs program using an equity lens. Model behavior and provide leadership for the development of Student Affairs programs that reflect Oakton's values. Recommend the employment and retention of all Student Affairs professional personnel to the President. Direct, coordinate and evaluate the work of the Student Affairs Administrative Leadership Team. Lead the development of the annual budget for the Division of Student Affairs. Establish a culture of collaboration, engagement, respect, belonging, and inclusion. Participate in salary and benefits negotiations as requested. Coordinate response to student complaints and concerns. Respond to student appeals of decisions made within Student Affairs. Perform other job-related activities as assigned by the President. Requirements: Qualifications and Working Conditions: A Master's degree in an area of Student Affairs is required; an earned doctorate is preferred. Five years of increasingly progressive and successful experience in higher education. Administrative experience managing staff in a large organizational unit. Ability to implement strategic budget development. Experience implementing institutional strategic initiatives with an equity lens. Demonstrated ability to promote an inclusive environment. Physical Demands:
Mobility to move between buildings and campuses. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Additional Information: Supervision Received:
General direction is received from the President and the Board of Trustees. Supervision Exercised:
Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over personnel. Salary Range: $185,000 - $200,000 A comprehensive benefit package is available.
