Job Description: Basic Function and Responsibility: Provide leadership and direct oversight for the Student Affairs programs of the College, including Access, Equity and Diversity, Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Wellness. Act as a principal advisor to the President. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in long- and short-range planning for the College, representing the Student Affairs function of the College and the perspective and needs of students within the President's highest-level advisory group (the President's Council). Using an equity lens, initiate policies and procedures that govern the Student Affairs program and share in the development and review of other policies that shape the Oakton experience for students and employees. Model behavior and provide leadership for the development of Student Affairs programs and services that reflect Oakton's values: exercising responsibility through accountability, embracing diversity, advancing equity, upholding integrity, cultivating compassion, and fostering collaboration. Recommend to the President the employment and retention of all Student Affairs professional personnel. Direct, coordinate and evaluate the work of the Student Affairs Administrative Leadership Team. Plan, direct and evaluate the planning and assessment activities of the Student Affairs Program. Lead the development of the annual budget for the Division of Student Affairs and collaborate with other senior leaders on the development of the institutional budget. Provide leadership in establishing a culture of collaboration, engagement, respect, belonging and inclusion, to insure that policies, process, and practices are equitable. Participate in the negotiations of salaries and benefits for administrators, faculty and staff as requested. Participate with other administrators, faculty, staff and students in developing programs that impact the Oakton Experience. Responsible for coordinating response to student complaints and concerns and to complaints and concerns about students through the implementation of the codes of student conduct and academic integrity, and the sexual harassment and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Respond to student appeals of the decisions of other administrators within Student Affairs. Perform other job-related activities as assigned by the President.

Job Requirements: Qualifications and Working Conditions A Master's degree in an area of Student Affairs is required. An earned doctorate is preferred. Five years of increasingly progressive and successful experience in higher education teaching and/or administration. Administrative experience managing staff in a large organizational unit in higher education environment is required. Ability to implement strategic budget development on an institutional and organization scale. Experience implementing institutional strategic initiatives with an equity lens. Demonstrated ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued. Physical Demands Mobility to move from building to building on-campus, between campuses, and to visit off-campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

Additional Information: Supervision Received: General direction is received from the President and the Board of Trustees as directed through the President. Supervision Exercised: Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over administrative, professional and classified personnel.
