A law firm in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience in Texas state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and wrongful death lawsuits. This role requires excellent writing, analytical skills, and a passion for developing trial skills in a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in state and federal courts in Texas, defending commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and wrongful death lawsuits. Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents. Manage discovery processes, including depositions, document production, and witness preparation. Develop case strategy, including risk assessment, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation. Attend and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to manage cases and ensure deadlines are met. Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, keeping them informed on case progress and possible outcomes. Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and build strong defenses in preparation for trial. Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution when appropriate. Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience, specifically in defending commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury lawsuits, and/or wrongful death lawsuits. Experience in both Texas state and federal courts is required.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensure and Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the state of Texas is required.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills for court appearances, client interactions, and negotiations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated ability to handle depositions, discovery, and trial preparation. Proficiency with case management and e-discovery tools.
