home page for more information. Position Summary: The Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship serves as the senior research administrator for the University of New Mexico College of Nursing. The Associate Dean will lead the expansion of the College’s research programs and infrastructure, facilitating and inspiring research and scholarship across the College of Nursing in grant writing, building and managing core research infrastructure, representing the College to internal and external constituencies interested in research, and positioning the college to capitalize on innovative funding opportunities. The Associate Dean serves on the Dean’s Executive Leadership Team and will reside in the Albuquerque, NM, area. Senior Leader Qualifications: Leading Change:

Overarching Responsibilities Include: Strategic visioning for developing research initiatives Facilitating strong collaborations within all College of Nursing programs and across the University of New Mexico Securing intra and extramural funding related to research and scholarship Supervising tenured/tenure track faculty Articulating a compelling, inclusive vision for the future of research and scholarship in nursing science Demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset to pursue diverse external funding sources Ensuring compliance with College, University, federal and state policies and procedures The University of New Mexico College of Nursing: The University of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country. With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, and doctoral programs. Our faculty engage in innovative research and clinical scholarship to understand and address the health care needs among our most vulnerable populations. Minimum Qualifications: PhD Established program of research with record of extramural funding from NIH, NSF, CDC, or AHRQ Record of data-based, peer-reviewed publications Experience supporting and mentoring faculty in developing programs of research Experience teaching PhD students and mentoring in dissertations Eligible for rank of Tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor Record of progressive leadership in major academic or research programs Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic health sciences center Experience mentoring DNP or other practice-focused graduate students Demonstrated leadership in mentorship and faculty development Ability to mentor faculty focused on various research areas Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Application Instructions: Only applications submitted through the official UNMJobs site will be accepted.
