A law firm seeks a dedicated Immigration Attorney specializing in EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. Duties
Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Manage a diverse caseload, focusing on detained and non-detained individuals. Visit detention centers and conduct intake interviews with detained clients. Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions. Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration application packets. Provide strategic advice to clients and develop case strategies. Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration matters. Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients, determining the best legal strategy for their cases. Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews. Draft and submit legal briefs for a wide range of immigration cases. Provide ongoing legal analysis to assess potential benefits and risks for clients' cases. Requirements
Experience :
1-5 years of experience in Immigration Law, specifically in EOIR and removal defense.
Skills :
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and effectively prioritize tasks. Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Proven track record of moving legal cases forward and achieving favorable outcomes. Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
Language :
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Technology :
Familiarity with case management software is a plus.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications
Must be licensed to practice law in California. Skills

Proven experience in managing a caseload, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in drafting legal briefs and engaging with clients.
