Job Summary Project Engineers at SPC are part of a project team who provide world-class construction services to companies such as NBC Universal, LinkedIn, Boston Consulting Group, Access Hollywood, Netflix, Omnicom, E Entertainment, Kite Pharma (to name a few). Key Qualifications Act as the “information center” supporting the project team Excellent verbal and communication skills Ability to work well under pressure Ability to multi-task and navigate/prioritize multiple requests Description This position is at our main office, where you will be part of a project team including the Project Executive, Project Manager, Estimator, and Project Superintendent. You will be an integral part of the project team providing administrative and technical support to team members. Pre-Construction Coordinate and update bid documents on SPC site Prepare bid invite packages and distribute to subcontractors Organize SPC Pre-Con team and subcontractor job walks Assist with takeoffs, quantity surveys, and workbook input Receive and qualify subcontractor bids Prepare bid/RFP response to client Project Administration Coordinate project information between Architects, Consulting Engineers, CM, Subcontractors, landlords, and SPC Project team Establish current set of construction documents and document control log Continually update construction documents and logs with plan revisions, addendums, design changes, etc. and make available to all team members Authoring and maintaining RFI requests and logs Preparing and managing the submittal routing and log update process Issue purchase orders and subcontracts Procurement of materials, equipment, and temporary site facilities Prepare project action item lists and follow through to completion Change Orders: Request subcontractor pricing, identify and quantify scope changes, qualify subcontractor pricing and assemble and maintain Proposal Estimates and logs Prepare project closeout documents Assist Project Manager/Superintendent with site mobilization requirements Confirm project-specific insurance requirements are in place by SPC and our vendors Prepare Owner/Client LOIs, agreements, and contracts Review, route, and have PM approve subcontractor and material invoices Perform Owner/Client, subcontractor, and financial closeout Scheduling Prepare/update project schedules as directed Identify and track all equipment, materials, products, and fabricated components ensuring they will be available per the project schedule Assist with preparation and distribution of (2) week look ahead schedules Assemble and distribute project status updates Meetings Prepare documentation for weekly project site meetings (Meeting Minutes, Updated Project Schedule, Submittals, RFIs, PEs, etc.) When required, attend and participate in weekly project team site meetings Education/Experience 2+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of the same Talents and Traits Alert and ready to assist Clients, Subcontractors, Architects, Consulting Engineers, and SPC Team Members Candidates should have the desire to be on a career path to become a Project Manager Ability to multi-task and navigate/prioritize multiple requests are required.
