Job Description
Position is at Newport Fab LLC dba Tower Semiconductor. Apply knowledge of quality engineering principles and methods to ensure compliance with internal quality requirements and regulatory guidelines to optimize product development, manufacturing, and distribution for the company's state-of-the-art automotive and wireless communications semiconductor products. Facilitate interactions with internal teams, customers and suppliers' engineering teams, and program or account quality managers on various matters of quality systems, requirements and activities for Automotive Industry; this includes Continuous Improvement Programs (CIPs), customer satisfaction, 8D problem solving processes, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Change Control, etc. Measure, monitor and improve customer satisfaction through periodic Business Reviews (Quarterly Business Reviews) and Supplier Scorecards. Perform Customer Corrective Action Requests (CCAR). Initiate and support changes in Control Board activities. Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) systems and methodology. Drive Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) systems and methodology to Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) systems. Manage internal and external (supplier/customer/Registers) Quality Audits (ISOTS/IATF, ISO, OHSAs, etc.) and meetings (records, actions tracking to customers, etc.). Handle Return Material Authorization (RMAs) for customer quality concerns.
Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Systems), Physics, Mathematics or a related field. * 5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering, process engineering, process integration engineering or a combination of these fields; experience must be in the manufacturing environment, automotive industry or semiconductor fabrication facility. * Position requires ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 Auditor Certifications; foreign certifications acceptable. * Work experience to include: 1. Measuring, monitoring, and improving customer satisfaction; must include direct contact with customers and suppliers on engineering quality issues. 2. Applying 8Ds, 5 Whys, and Fishbone as part of the problem-solving systems and methodologies to resolve quality issues; processing Customer Corrective Action Requests (CCAR). 3. Managing New Product Introduction (NPI) or APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities. 4. Supporting internal and external Quality Audits in accordance with the ISO/TS 16949 or IATF16949 and ISO 9000 (or later versions) global quality standards. 5. Using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and execute Continuous Improvement projects. 6. Reviewing technical prints and drawings specifications, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). 7. Utilizing the following quality management tools: Problem Solving (8D), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process Failure Mode & Analysis (Process FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). 8. Ensuring adherence to and implementation of ISO 9000 and ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 quality management standards. * Academic background or work experience to include: 9. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 or later versions.
