A law firm in New York City is in search of an experienced Senior Estate and Trust Partner to lead their estate planning practice. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of estate and trust law, alongside a proven track record of building client relationships and managing complex legal matters. Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all aspects of estate and trust planning, administration, and litigation. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing tailored legal advice and strategies to meet their needs. Mentor and guide junior attorneys and staff, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment. Stay abreast of current laws and regulations in estate and trust matters, ensuring compliance and proactive planning for clients. Draft and review complex legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments. Represent clients in probate proceedings and other estate-related disputes in various jurisdictions. Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans. Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the firm’s estate and trust practice. Requirements
A minimum of 8 years of experience in estate and trust law, with a strong focus on high-net-worth clients. Extensive knowledge of relevant legal statutes, tax implications, and estate planning strategies. Demonstrated success in managing complex cases and navigating sensitive client situations. Education and Certifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in New York. Certification in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, or a related field is preferred. Skills
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with clients and colleagues. Proficient in legal research and case management software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
