General Summary

The Associate Director, Strategy & Operations, US Heme BU will be central to supporting the strategy, planning, execution, and organizational projects across the US Heme BU. By partnering closely with business leadership teams, cross-functional stakeholders and project team members, this individual develops and maintains fully integrated project plans to ensure that deliverables are successfully executed to expected timelines, in accordance with project objectives, and are within budget. The role is also responsible for comprehensive communication, including status reporting, risk management, department processes to cross-functional stakeholders and department senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads multiple departmental projects both strategically and operationally and is responsible for departmental program/process operations.

Proactively coordinate operational and leadership team meetings and forums, manage agendas, action items, and cadence.

Work in partnership with business leadership to ensure relevant strategic agenda topics are aligned to business goals and timelines.

Develop tools and dashboards to monitor business KPIs.

Develops plans, goals, processes, logistics for projects, gaining alignment across the team as a whole.

Be a thought partner to leadership and team members to shape strategic planning for the BU.

Works closely with department leadership to continue to maximize process efficiency and align department goals and strategy.

Regularly interacts with functional areas beyond own department.

Conducts complex scenario planning to proactively provide analysis, make process improvement recommendations on alternative development plans.

Effectively summarizes key information such as program progress, timeline updates, risk opportunity assessments and SOPs.

Develops and maintains project and departmental budgets and is accountable for understanding and communicating forecast variance, risks and opportunities.

Compiles succinct reports and prepares minutes for internal meetings; methodically tracks all actions items, and finds new ways to stay abreast of multi-dimensional tasks.

Contributes to the best practices of project management and departmental operations to support the continued success and evolution of the department.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Advanced qualification in business or project management.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

8+ years of commercial or program management experience in pharma or biotech.

A strong preference for experience in the following areas:

Program management.

Strategic planning.

Specialty product or cell & genetic therapy experience.

Pipeline product strategy or marketing.

Ex-US launch experience with preference for EU and Japan.

Understanding of drug development process.

Management consulting experience in the commercial biotech/pharm field.

Knowledge/Skills

Ability to undertake both strategic thinking and operational execution (through preparing, implementing, and effectively managing tactical initiatives).

Proven ability to work in and influence a cross-functional team.

Specialized, in-depth knowledge of development project planning across multiple program areas.

Significant experience in managing complex project teams.

Results-oriented and excellent analytical, strategic, business planning, communication, and decision-making skills.

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:

Hybrid : work remotely up to two days per week;

or select

On-Site : work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
