Join Takeda as a Senior Scientist - Antibody Discovery, Flowcytometry Scientist where you will develop innovative solutions to complex problems aligned with organizational objectives. Your work involves addressing intricate issues, requiring in-depth analysis and judgment. You also engage with key contacts outside your expertise area and contribute to the development of new concepts and standards. You will operate with considerable autonomy, serving as a consultant to management and an external spokesperson on major matters, often working independently and leading function teams or projects. Additionally, you play a role in training and mentoring junior staff. As part of the Global Biologics team, you will report to the Director, Antibody Discovery and Optimization, In Vivo Based Platforms. How you will contribute:

The role is lab-based and focused on utilizing state-of-the-art discovery technology and creating novel treatments to make a large impact on patients’ lives in the fields of Oncology, Gastroenterology, and Neuroscience. As part of the team, contribution to the swift and efficient discovery of biologic therapeutics using in vivo based approaches is the core responsibility. As part of the in-vivo antibody discovery team using immunization approaches and single-cell technologies to isolate paired heavy and light chain antibodies from human Ig transgenic animals. The core role necessitates extensive experience in flow cytometry, an in-depth understanding of various instruments, and a well-developed working knowledge of technical practices and procedures relating to all aspects of polychromatic flow cytometry and single-cell sorting. The position demands a good understanding of antibody discovery screening workflows and sound knowledge of Immunogenetics and biologic drug discovery. In-depth scientific engagement and involvement in programs, working with the wider in vivo team, conducting HT antibody discovery, applying single B cell cloning coupled with NGS technologies, as well as general molecular biology will be required. The role will also require supporting the workflows of the Yeast antibody discovery team. Interfacing with cross-functional project team members to make data-driven decisions with an impact on the pipeline is vital. Requires being an active participant of a team of motivated and enthusiastic scientists located in Cambridge, MA, USA, bringing strong experience in therapeutic antibody discovery. Responsible for supporting flow cytometry-related needs, including the design and development of flow panels to support therapeutic antibody discovery, and is expected to impact at the organizational level in a matrix environment. Keep up to date with the latest technologies, instruments, external scientific landscape, make strategic recommendations for process improvements and be responsible for business planning and purchasing of reagents/instruments to support the growing needs of flow cytometry across the various antibody discovery platforms. Responsible for instruments' daily maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and sanitation. In addition, the candidate will be involved in preparing cell lines and primary cells for sorting and will support downstream molecular biology processes to retrieve immunoglobulin genes from single B-cells. Strategize, optimize, and perform B cell separation and refined enrichment techniques for sorting antigen-specific memory and plasma B cells. Experience using 10X Genomics technology for antibody capture and generation of libraries for sequencing. Independently design, develop, and execute research assignments and contribute to multiple projects in parallel. Collaborate and interact with team members and other internal groups for high efficiency and transparency to enable timely progression of projects. Demonstrate proactivity by identifying areas to improve efficiency and perform technology development to bring innovation to the team. Work with data analysis tools to ensure thorough evaluation of datasets and information-based decision making, in addition to summarizing and presenting findings to smaller and larger teams. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Cell Biology/Immunology with at least 5 years or MS in Biology/Immunology or a related field with more than 10 years of relevant experience preferably in a biopharmaceutical setting. Proven record of managing/working in a Core Flow Cytometry department. Experience with operating state-of-the-art flow cytometry analyzers, sorters, and analysis software. Experience with multiparametric immunophenotyping. Experience in Molecular Biology techniques such as PCR & Cloning. Experience with aseptic culturing & staining primary cells, mammalian, and animal-derived cell lines. Proficiency in performing cell-based and ELISA assays. Motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and collaborative spirit. Ability to work independently to design and troubleshoot experiments. Analyze and present data, both in written reports and oral presentations. Good communication skills, analytical mind, attention to detail, and organizational skills are critical. More about us:
