Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and completing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role includes managing financial reporting, ensuring accurate accounting, preparing financial statements, and conducting financial analysis. The Senior Accountant also supports the budgeting process and works to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare management reports and provide insights on financial performance. General Ledger Management: Oversee the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet maintenance. Review and analyze general ledger transactions to ensure proper classification. Perform variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis. Support department heads in managing their budgets. Internal Controls and Compliance: Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Assist in the preparation and coordination of external and internal audits. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices, and proper recording of revenue. Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances and resolve discrepancies. Tax and Regulatory Filings: Assist in preparing 990 tax return, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed. Team Leadership: Supervise Accounting Specialist. Provide guidance in accounting principles and best practices. Conduct training sessions and ensure continuous improvement within the team. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and advice. Requirements: Education and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred. Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. NetSuite experience required. Skills and Attributes Proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite preferred. Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
