We are in search of a seasoned and exceptionally qualified
Scientific Advisor
to supervise the scientific methodologies at our materials testing facility and steer the laboratory's scientific trajectory. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our lab maintains the utmost standards of scientific excellence. Responsibilities:
Oversee Scientific Methods
Direct all scientific methods for the materials testing facility, ensuring accurate testing for THC, THCA, CBD, CBDA, and CBN potency. Conduct terpene profile analysis and test for harmful microbials (e.g., Escherichia coli and salmonella), residual solvents, toxins, pesticides, and dangerous molds or mildew. Lead plant sex identification testing to aid cultivation and production accuracy.
Ensure Laboratory Quality Standards
Establish and maintain quality control and assurance protocols to meet and exceed industry standards. Conduct regular on-site inspections, maintain specimen retention, and ensure the security and chain of custody for all samples. Supervise lab space organization and ensure accurate records and timely reporting of results.
Supervise Laboratory Staff
Train and mentor lab technicians, fostering a culture of continuous education and scientific excellence. Oversee staff performance and education, ensuring that all team members receive regular training in the latest scientific practices and technologies.
Compliance and Certification
Ensure the laboratory complies with all state and federal regulations, including obtaining and maintaining an Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit. Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on scientific advancements and regulatory changes, promoting ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus two years of post-degree laboratory experience. OR Master’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus four years of post-degree laboratory experience. OR Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus six years of post-degree laboratory experience. Compensation:
$137,000 per year
