This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer (level 2) or the Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) based on requirements listed below. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for well-qualified Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position is located in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordination and collaboration with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems in establishing and managing the technical baseline in support of programmatic milestones. The candidate will be executing system integration tasking across the entire lifecycle of a system and integrating new capabilities on the RQ4 platform. This role will entail supporting cradle-to-grave integration and leadership across all SE disciplines including requirements development, use case development, capability (hardware and software) development, integration planning, lab integration, test planning, formal test, verification, and fielded test and mission support. The position requires system thinking and extensive knowledge of development life-cycle processes. Candidate must exhibit strong communication skills (written and oral) and support coordination cross-IPT toward the goal of an operationally validated integrated system. Essential Functions: Support cross-IPT development of system level requirements and use cases Implement requirements verification methodology and traceability Support development of interface definitions and integration plans Conduct formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems Evaluate integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found Perform requirements verification and selloff Provide support to flight test and fielded assets This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer (level 2) or the Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) based on requirements listed below. Basic Qualifications: For Systems Engineer (level 2) consideration - Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 Years experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 Years experience Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) consideration – Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience; MS degree in STEM discipline with 3 years of experience in engineering. PhD degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of engineering experience Experience in at least one aspect of aerospace Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification, integration, and requirements management Must have at least an Interim Secret clearance to start for consideration Ability to obtain and maintain a final DoD Secret Security Clearance Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification) and interface control documents (ICDs), and statements of work (SOW) Experience in troubleshooting system issues and identifying root cause corrective actions Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution Experience in software development, including interfacing with systems engineering and integration and test Experience in Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) process Experience with USAF programs Experience with International or FMS customers SIL Integration and Troubleshooting Experience in integrating hardware and software in a lab environment as well as interface management Experience with technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline) Experience with root cause investigations, fielded issue investigation, and operational missions Salary Range:
$87,200 - $130,800 Salary Range 2:
$107,300 - $160,900 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
