Overview
Trade Finance and Lending (TF&L) is a key business division with the Corporate Bank, serving global clients with innovative financial solutions. This team is undergoing a significant transformation, modernizing legacy platforms into cloud-compliant, event-driven architectures with reusable technology stacks to automate and enhance business processes, As a Lead Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role in this journey, You will tackle the challenge of working with a complex, large-scale legacy codebase with minimal documentation, coaching and developing a team to deliver exceptional results, You will use your technical expertise and leadership skills to modernize systems, build team capabilities, and create lasting impact.
You'll create strategies to modernize and improve the system while ensuring stability and performance. You'll mentor and uplift a team of engineers, helping them grow their technical skills, build confidence, and become high performers. You'll foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous learning, and you will set the standard for excellence by contributing to the codebase yourself, demonstrating best practices and guiding the team in technical execution, You will develop strong relationships with business stakeholders, product owners, and other engineering teams to understand and solve business problems using technology, Together with the team you will design and manage delivery of top-class engineering solutions to satisfy complex and diverse business goals, ensuring alignment and steer towards strategic architecture.

Design & develop high-quality solutions for risk management of lending products Drive continuous improvement on process, tools and techniques Solve complex problems and deliver effective, practical solutions Support the day-to-day stability of the platforms you develop, prioritize and manage incidents Automate delivery pipelines, so that systems are always ready to deploy Seek ways to improve your application's performance and code quality, ensuring architecture supports business requirements How You'll Lead
Work with senior business stakeholders to develop a technology book of work for your applications Manage end to end ownership of delivery from requirements to production release, with a focus on continuous improvement Coach junior developers, perform code reviews and pairing sessions, encourage knowledge sharing, be helpful and keep positive Skills You'll Need
Extensive knowledge of Oracle PL/ Structured Query Language (SQL), Java, Spring Exposure to front-end technologies such as JavaScript Experienced developer in complex, business-facing applications Ability to deal with a monolithic application and develop a vision on how to decouple it gradually rather than rewriting the application from scratch Solid understanding of the modern software development life cycle (SDLC) tool stack, including Bitbucket, Jira, Artifactory, TeamCity, and similar platforms Skills That Will Help You Excel
A commitment to quality applying practices such as test-driven development Pragmatic mindset driving quicker time to market and early user feedback Promoting clean code principles to enable sustainable production solutions Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
