SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director is responsible to manage a broad range of human resources activities which may include risk management, workers compensation, payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, human resource information systems (HRIS), policy development, employee relations, and training and development. Provides HR support and assists executives, management, and staff with HR related questions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to: Develops strategies and administers various human resources plans and procedures for successful workforce management of all company personnel. Leads, plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Develops department goals, objectives, and systems. Management and working knowledge of HRIS software for data management of employee information, worktime, payroll, benefits, and performance. Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Fostering an environment of teamwork to ensure that all work is completed on time and department goals are met. Evaluates and implements annual updates to the compensation program including, rewrites job descriptions as necessary; research salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; oversees and monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Develops, reviews, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. Oversees benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow. Develops and maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations Oversees recruitment efforts to entire workforce. Works with supervisors to extend job offers. Plans, schedules, and conducts trainings and orientations. Develops programs and standards for employee development. Promotes healthy relationships between staff through mediation, handling disputes, and guiding managers through employee issues. Directs and supervises the Workforce Safety program for the organization including setting safety goals, priorities and strategies. Establishes and maintains standards for department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Oversees maintenance of organizational charts and employee directory. Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

Interviews, selects and trains department employees Trains employees in proper job performance techniques and procedures Directs work of employee and sets/adjusts hours of work Maintains records on employee productivity and appraises employees' productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other change in status Addresses departmental employee complaints and disciplines employees when necessary Coordinates and leads the risk management program including WSI compliance. Assist in scheduling and providing employee training. Provides office coverage and back up support for staff in times of absence. Collaborates to work across all departments and provide support and assistance with all things related to HR functions.

Prepares budget development for HR department, professional development, and certification programs. Coordinates and monitors the Social Committee. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns. Maintains a professional working relationship with full and part-time staff. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent. Experience and Skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Accepted education and experience are as follows:?
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field, and five or more years of successful experience in the Human Resources administration, and three years of supervisory experience. Or an associate's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field, with eight or more years of successful experience in the Human Resources administration, and three years of supervisory experience. Experience overseeing a workforce safety program in coordination with Workforce Safety Insurance (WSI) standards is preferred. CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
PHR or SHRM-CP certificate required Must possess a valid driver's license.
