Research Assistant Professor in Radiology, Research Position Details
Position Description
The Department of Radiology at the University of Washington is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Research Assistant Professor with an anticipated, but flexible, start date of May 1, 2025. Research Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The successful candidate will report to the Vice Chair of Clinical Research. The applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an independent funded research program in advanced MR imaging and MRI physics and will be expected to develop experience in pulse programming. The candidate will design and implement research projects with a focus on pre-clinical imaging, technical development of imaging, translational research, conducting data analysis and interpretation, and provide training and support of other faculty and research staff when needed. This position will also be expected to support teaching, research, and administrative missions in the radiology department and the UW School of Medicine. All faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The base salary range for this position will be: $8,334 - $11,667 per month ($100,008 - $140,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. This position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan. Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following requirements: PhD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) in a field involving basic or clinical science, imaging physics, engineering, or a related field. At least four years of relevant experience post terminal degree (postdoctoral or faculty) Instructions
