About The Role Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Director, Sales Planning & Analytics will play a critical leadership role in managing and optimizing sales strategies, pricing, promotional planning, and performance analysis across all channels and brands. This position will be responsible for providing actionable insights, guiding sales planning processes, and supporting the execution of growth strategies in alignment with the company's financial and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CPG sales analytics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive the performance of NextFoods' brands. Key Responsibilities: Sales Planning & Forecasting: ·Lead sales planning and forecasting for all channels, with a focus on retail grocery, aligning with strategic goals and demand forecasts. ·Consolidate and evaluate sales plans across channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with business objectives. Pricing Strategy & Margin Analysis: ·Manage pricing strategy across all sales channels (retail, eCommerce, Amazon, etc.) to optimize competitiveness and profitability. ·Analyze margins by product line, channel, and brand, identifying opportunities for improvement. Sales Data & Trade Spend Analysis: ·Analyze syndicated sales data (e.g., SPINS, IRI) and market trends to provide insights into product performance and innovation positioning. ·Evaluate trade spend performance, ensuring appropriate strategies are implemented to maximize ROI and lift. Promotional & Financial Planning: ·Ensure all promotional plans align with financial goals and budgets. ·Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize promotional strategies and forecast accuracy. Cross-Functional Collaboration: ·Serve as the central source of sales data and insights, supporting sales, marketing, finance, and operations in executing strategic plans. ·Work closely with teams to ensure alignment between sales targets, demand forecasts, promotional calendars, and inventory planning. Reporting & Executive-Level Analysis: ·Generate weekly and monthly sales reports, dashboards, and executive-level performance summaries, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities. ·Present findings to senior leadership and the board, providing actionable recommendations based on data analysis. Advanced Data Analytics: ·Utilize advanced tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) to mine and interpret data, providing actionable insights on sales trends, market dynamics, and consumer behavior. ·Assess the impact of pricing, trade promotions, and competitive activity on market share and sales performance. Support Strategic Decision-Making: ·Contribute to the development of financial models, scenario planning, and investment evaluation to support decision-making. ·Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to ensure alignment with business goals. Perform other duties as assigned to meet company goals. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in CPG sales planning and analytics, with a focus on trade spend, pricing, and forecasting. Experience working with SPINS, IRI, and other syndicated data providers is essential. Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas), SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI). Strong understanding of sales forecasting, demand planning, and S&OP processes. Familiarity with eCommerce (particularly Amazon) sales data and analytics. Experience with trade spend management and deduction software in the CPG industry. Advanced problem-solving and data analysis skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior leadership. Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and collaborative, with a “whatever it takes” attitude to achieve results. Ability to work independently and across teams, contributing to the success of cross-functional initiatives. Compensation ·$130-160K annually depending on experience.
