Summary Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (JPATS) / Kansas City, MO. The selectee of this position serves as a IT Specialist. You will be responsible for managing a full range of IT-related service delivery, operations and projects for JPATS. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist at the GS-2210-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serving as an Information Technology Specialist with considerable responsibility for managing a full range of IT-related service delivery, operations and projects for JPATS. Providing expert IT advice to the JPATS leadership and assuring JPATS compliance with all IT-related guidance. Applying expert knowledge of the broad range of IT related compliance requirements such as Congressional mandates, federal regulations and guidelines, departmental regulations and guidelines, and USMS IT guidance, policies, and procedures. Leading a full range of IT projects and services through the IT change control process for JPATS. Serving as the Information Technology Division's business relationship manager and representative for JPATS. Coordinating project requirements, service installation, service operations and restoration of services. May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Status Candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Qualifications GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-2210-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Basic Requirement: In order to qualify, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Technology Awareness- -Knowledge of developments and new applications of information technology (hardware, software, telecommunications), emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and applications and implementation of information systems to meet organizational requirements. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers {that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information {for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information {for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Writing- Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience. Project Management- Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. AND Minimum Qualifications: In addition to the basic requirement above, applicants must qualify for this position via the experience described below. Specialized Experience GS-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experiences equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing duties related to: Planning and coordinating the installation and operation of IT services and/or equipment within an off ice or organization; Participating on IT functionality teams to help with development, implementation and/or execution of specialized IT tasks or projects; Planning and implementing secure, cost-effective networking IT solutions for customers; and Advising leadership of IT concerns and providing potential solutions. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the first five pages of work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
