Summary / Role Purpose
Ansys is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented software engineer to lead a dynamic team in supporting exciting and meaningful Digital Mission Engineering (DME) applications. The Lead R&D Engineer/Lead Software Engineer will collaborate with a team of software development experts to ensure software applications are securely developed, tested and released.
This position is based in Exton, PA and is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Leads architecting and implementation of DevSecOps methodologies into a modernized software development environment Provides guidance and collaborates with other engineers to plan, design and develop the DevSecOps environment that includes cohesive CI/CD pipelines. Acts as a technical reference within the DME Product Development Unit. Demonstrates deep understanding of DevSecOps and modern software development best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring Continuously analyzes the DevSecOps environment for technical and process improvements (e.g., integration of security measures, faster security and software updates, improved automation, reduced glitches, and software failures, etc.) Architects the software development environment with consideration of scalability, cost, and reliability Collaborates with development teams and leads projects that may involve restructuring code and/or significant changes to the developer experience Supports the entire Software Development Lifecycle with an emphasis on build and release management via automation Promotes DevOps as a team culture and new technologies Works independently with minimal supervision, may take on some mentoring responsibilities or supervise interns May be responsible for line management of a small technical team but primary duties are of an individual technical nature Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience Experience with establishing continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks Commercial experience as an application software developer Experience with Open Source Libraries, C++, GCC, Fortran, Kotlin, Java, Visual Studio Experience with build automation scripts - Cmake, premake, ant, nant, msbuild Experience with SCA and SAST tools Organizational and leadership abilities with strong communication and presentation skills Able to provide guidance to junior team members Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with QuickBuild, Nuget or other build management and package management software Experience leading high-level projects that may span departments or business units Advanced knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent scripting skills Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
